🔗 Share this article Former Doctor Faces Assault Allegations Against 38 Individuals in His Care Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor now faces charges for performing assaults involving 38 individuals who were under his care. The Grave Allegations The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021. One deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.” Scope of the Police Inquiry These allegations come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital. Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th. Breakdown of Charges The charging documents said the 45 charges he is charged with: Fifteen counts of sexual assault. Seventeen counts of assault by penetration. 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13. Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen. 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration. Authorities have asked anyone with concerns to get in touch with the investigating team.
