A Major Acquisition for the WSL Side The forward, with half a year left on her deal, has been a consistent goalscorer for her club and the national team. Having scored more than 100 goals for Bayern and found the net 54 times in 82 caps for her country. This signing will be seen as a major coup for the Women’s Super League side. Departure from Munich was expected since she was seen holding back emotions while thanking the German club’s fans after a win over Bayer Leverkusen this month. It was reported in December that the German women's top flight was set to lose one of its leading strikers. Per reports, the formalities for the transfer have now been completed. Reliable Goal Threat to Strengthen the Attack The experienced striker's signing should represent a major uplift to United’s forward line. She has been highly reliable with her finishing in the Bundesliga. For seven straight seasons, up to and including the most recent campaign, she reached at least a double-digit tally of league goals. She won the Golden Boot in 2021-22 season with 16 goals. Building Steam at Old Trafford The acquisition of the German international comes at a time when United seem to be building positive momentum. Recent on-pitch successes include securing a place in the European knockout phase playoffs in a seeded position and a win in the Conti Cup quarter-finals. In the transfer market, the winter break has seen further activity: The acquisition of Sweden right-back Hanna Lundkvist on a multi-year deal. The new deal for Japanese playmaker Hinata Miyazawa, who has become popular figure since joining in 2023. On Miyazawa’s new deal, a club official stated: “She has become a critical component to the way we play.
