Performer Refutes Anti-Vax Views Following Voicing Contentious Coronavirus Documentary

Liam Neeson has lent his voice to a new documentary that challenges the efficacy of vaccinations and commends former health official RFK Jr.

The Feature's Contentious Origins

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is based on a popular book written by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the global outbreak for claims that the virus was caused by a problematic version of the seasonal immunization.

The book's co-author, a producer, has penned books with far-right media personality Alex Jones. Heckenlively took to social media praising Neeson's involvement in the documentary.

A Firm Rebuttal

The team of the actor have released a response firmly refuting suggestions that he supports anti-vaccine beliefs.

"Many understand that unethical practices can exist within the pharmaceutical industry, but that cannot be conflated with rejection of vaccines," the statement reads. "Liam has never been, and is not, anti-vaccination. His considerable work with the UN children's agency highlights his consistent support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

The statement added that the actor did not shape the film's narrative and that inquiries about its content are best addressed to the producers.

Major Claims Within the Documentary

As presented, the script provided by Neeson features several strong statements:

  • It states that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "unconditional submission" to government bodies.
  • It declares that "science has become deeply influenced by politics."
  • Kennedy is shown stating, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they just aren't safely tested."
  • It further attacks pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused severe distress that cost thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of the immunizations, it references a view that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "dangerous experiments."

Previous Background and Current Debates

The documentary also references a past television report about clinical trials on children, which was afterwards the focus of a correction by the broadcaster for unbalanced reporting.

Recently, Kennedy directed the national health agency to change its official position that there is no causal relationship between immunizations and autism. This supposed link is also referenced in the film, contrary to a new report from the global health body stating no such link has been found.

A Previous Position of Endorsement

Standing in contrast to the documentary's tone, Neeson has formerly voiced strong support for vaccines in his role as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

Previously, he referred to vaccines as "an extraordinary human success story," adding that "The discourse about vaccines in recent years has forgotten how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in our history."

"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's narration proclaiming, "This marks not the conclusion of our story. Rather, it is the beginning of a fresh chapter."
