🔗 Share this article The Mighty Nein's Opening Sequence Chose the Incorrect Critical Role Song This latest animated series, the newest animated series from the beloved role-playing group, revealed a new introductory sequence. It showcases our favorite cast of misfits, misfits, and rogues fighting hard and taking names, while also hinting at several heart-wrenching personal histories for key figures including the voice actor's mage Caleb, and Travis Willingham's warlock orc, the character Fjord. Overall, the intro looks stunning. However, I felt that something was missing in the music selection. This sequence uses "Welcome to the Continent", a truly stellar song composed by artist the talented musician. It's a track from the official score of that title, the second release put out by Critical Role Productions LLC's music division their music brand. It's a wonderful sentimental choice, and I suspect that fans of the sequel series will appreciate its inclusion. But for me, The Mighty Nein's intro doesn't quite capture the excitement and excitement that was part of the show's actual-play adventure. "It's Your Turn", composed by musician the artist, was an instant classic in my view when it was first revealed in 2015, and it only got better when co-founder Sam Riegel wrote words to the tune for the series' animated intro in 2018. Featuring vocals from Ashley Johnson, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, as well as the writer, the track was catchy and enjoyable. At the time, I hadn't seen the follow-up series at that point, but it was so infectious that I still saved it on my phone. It's a song that knows how to get you pumped before you dive into an installment of adventurous fun. The show's opening with "Welcome to Wildemount" fails to hit the same chords for me. It's a grand piece of music, but based on my understanding of this party, I can't help but feel that its tone is somewhat mismatched. Naturally, the creators has stated that the series will have a few surprises and variations from the actual-play campaign. An adjusted mood for its intro appears as one of them. The Mighty Nein will be available to watch on Prime Video from Nov. 19. If you can't wait before that, or wish to prepare to get to know the personas of the second series, the actual play are available on the audio platform and YouTube.
